Delhi has achieves 100% TV digitisation

P K Tripathi, State Chief Secretary claims that New Delhi has achieved its target of installing Set top boxes, reports The Hindu. Mr. Tripathi has claimed that delhi has been successful in making the switch from analogue signals to digital. He further shared that 33.41 lakh households Delhi own TV sets, boasting of a penetration rate of 88 percent. Of these, Tripathi also added that 22.98 lakh households already had cable TV connections, and in these households 23.21 lakh cable TV STBs had been installed already.

The Indian ministry, in its recent press statement,  revealed that it achieved 81% of cable TV digitisation across the four metro cities. Here it elaborated that the number is fairly high at 87 percent, considering the progress made by Direct To Home (DTH) services.

Swapan Chowdhury  Cable Operators Digitisation Committee convenor  added that the estimated figure of 1.33 crore had been arrived upon based on feedback provided by the cable operators’ body and stressed that the reduced figure was incorrect.
